BIOGRAPHY
Michael Owusu Addo was born on the 10th of July 1988 in Koforidua, Ghana.
He is the fourth born of five children born and raised in Tema, Greater Accra. The rapper is from the Ashanti tribe of Ghana. He is fluent in both Twi and English.
Sarkodie begun and graduated from basic level of education in Tema, Ghana, where he gained his Basic Education Certificate. After completing his basic level of education, he furthered at Tema Methodist High School, from where he obtained his Senior School Certificate.
He also obtained his degree in Graphic Design(now Communication Design) from IPMC.
MUSIC CAREER
Sarkodie began his rapping career at a tender age. At the age of four, he already knew what he wanted to achieve in life, and had no fear to grab it.
However, Kasahare Level was the program that made many people began to know the rapper. Kasahare Level is a music show used to air on Adom 106.3 FM. The host of the show, Duncan Williams, took a special interest in Young Sarkodie and later became his manager. While on the show, he was introduced to Edem and Castro, who in turn introduced him to Hammer of The Last Two, an established record producer.
Young Sarkodie amazed the producer, who had no choice but to let him record two tracks for Edem’s maiden album. After his time on the show and his collaboration with Hammer, it was clear to anyone watching that Sarkodie was headed places.
