Daddy Lumba |
Linford Kennedy Amankwaa, better known by his stage name Ko-Jo Cue, a Ghanaian Hip-Hop/Afro-Pop performer from Kumasi, has hailed highlife maestro Daddy Lumba as the world's most prominent musical act.
The gifted musician went on to say that Michael Jackson, the late musical legend, has nothing on Daddy Lumba.
“With the exception of his theatrical skills, Michael Jackson will not be anywhere near Daddy Lumba if he was not born in Ghana. Daddy Lumba is the best in the world. This is who he would have become if he hadn't been born in Ghana, and also because white people don't speak Twi.”
He went on to say that language plays a role in music appreciation to some extent.
“Daddy Lumba would have been the greatest in the world if foreigners knew Twi, and I stand by it every day.”
When asked if Daddy Lumba had any effect on his music by NYDJ on Y102.5FM's Ryse N Shyne broadcast, Ko-Jo Cue said no.
